Copy and paste functionality will be be absent from Windows Phone 7 mobiles, it has been confirmed.
This news has come straight from the mouth of a Microsoft spokesperson during the MIX10 conference, where a press event became the venue for the revelations..
Engadget reported the initial announcement and then received solid confirmation from the Microsoft's plans from a company representative.
The move was apparently inspired by market research that suggests that most people do not need to be able to copy and paste text on their mobile phones, although most WinMo users may beg to differ.
Microsoft will continue to work on updates for the platform once it is launched, so there is a chance that future releases will add this functionality.
