HTC's Desire is the best phone yet to employ Google's Android operating system, according to a poll of smartphone fans.
In a consumer study conducted by Tech Radar 47 per cent of participants said that they would be getting an HTC Desire as soon as their finances allowed.
Meanwhile, eight per cent of users said that Google's Nexus One was their top phone in the Android arena, whilst eight per cent voted for the HTC Legend.
The HTC Desire is notable for being universally available on all of the UK's major mobile networks. Everyone from O2 to 3 offers the much sought-after smartphone to customers.
Interestingly, the poll also found that just 12 per cent of people quizzed plan to stick with their iPhone this year, suggesting that Android phones are fast replacing Apple mobiles as the tech types' handsets of choice.
