Mobile phone carriers are anticipating a June launch for the next generation iPhone, online speculation suggests.
The rumours come after forecasts in some quarters that Apple could delay the new iPhone to avoid impairing demand for the newly arrived iPad tablet.
Robert Watson, Chief Executive Officer at SaskTel, told Leader Post:"The good news is that (Apple) is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June time-frame and they're going to put us on that."
Earlier this year, speculation was rife that Apple could adopt a new branding format for the next edition of its phone, opting for the sobriquet 'HD' rather than the more widely reported '4G'.
Both suggest that Apple is planning a phone that will have 4G network connectivity, where available in the US.
