Vodafone has confirmed that it will be launching the Nexus One smartphone from Google before the end of the month.
Vodafone has been planning the release of the phone since the beginning of the year, but a confirmation of the Nexus One's imminent arrival has finally appeared on the network's website.
Vodafone says that it will be offering the Nexus One free on a two year contract, although specific details about inclusive minutes and monthly price have yet to be published.
The Nexus One is arriving a little late in the UK, because HTC's Desire, which is built around the same hardware and software but offers a much more interesting user interface (UI), has already been wowing consumers over here.
The Nexus One's launch in the US did not coincide with stiff simultaneous competition from such a closely aligned smartphone.
UK customers will also be able to buy the Nexus One SIM-free from Google online.
