A new record for monthly revenues has been set by HTC as a direct result of the success of the Desire Android smartphone.
HTC took £390 million during April this year, which is not only an all-time best for the firm, but also represents a significant increase over the equivalent period in 2009.
A total of £1.1 billion hit HTC's account between the beginning of January and the end of April this year, which is almost 33 per cent higher than in the same period last year.
HTC's rise to mainstream success has been facilitated by a number of landmark smartphones. In 2009 it was the Hero that gained public attention, while this year has been dominated by the Legend and Desire.
Unlike most other smartphones, the HTC Desire is available with every major UK network provider, guaranteeing it maximum exposure.
Entry-level customers will have a chance to buy into the HTC ethos when the Smart arrives later in the year.
