Samsung's new Bada platform is being promoted to the app development community with the Bada Developer Challenge, complete with a total prize pot of nearly £1.83 million for devs who most impress the company with their efforts.
First prize will be a little over £200,000, while developers whose apps enter the top 300 over the next three months will get the Bada-based Samsung Wave free of charge in order to see how their apps will run on a real phone.
Those in second place downwards will win between nearly £70,000 and £30,000 for their efforts, with the smallest prizes of £20,000 being offered to developers who come up with simple but effective apps that catch Samsung's eye.
Anyone can register to take part in the Bada Developer Challenge and it is free to enter.
Last year's Samsung Android developer challenge was eventually won by an app which can recognise the face of the phone owner, only then allowing the phone to be unlocked.
