A gargantuan BlackBerry smartphone which dwarfs the usually diminutive devices produced by Canadian manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) is set to make waves in Paris.
RIM has produced the oversized BlackBerry in order to show it off at the Beubourg Esplanade later in the month, according to an official blog post.
The purpose of creating the large BlackBerry is to promote the brand in France and a Facebook group has been set up to allow users to post their own text messages and pictures on the screen of the phone.
RIM has given users complete control over the precise data and time at which their content will be shown, so presumably people will be able to flock to see the mobile and check out their message as it is posted.
Since RIM will be displaying a live feed from the Facebook group at the same time, it is likely that a good deal of moderation will be required to filter out any inappropriate sentiments that may be expressed by some exhibitionist members of the online community.
It would not be the first time that a live feed has embarrassed a firm in public.
