The Nokia N900 which uses the Maemo operating system (OS), has been cleverly manipulated by a team of hackers to make use of Google's brand new Android 2.2 platform.

A video of an N900 clearly running Android 2.2 has been posted online, showing that Nokia's flagship smartphone is still a favourite with the modding community.
The N900 originally hit the market at the end of last year and won plenty of admirers for its Maemo OS, which was a hardcore user's dream, if a little impenetrable for the average consumer.
The N900 has a 600MHz processor and a large 3.5 inch screen, both of which have been cleverly accommodated in the port of Android 2.2. In fact, it seems that the phone and the alien OS actually run quite successfully together, with a smooth, speedy partnership demonstrated in the video.
