BlackBerry owners in Japan will be pleased to discover that the App World digital download service is finally available after manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) announced its official launch.
The App World is accessible from any BlackBerry mobile and it has both free and paid-for applications to download, with the content crafted specifically for the BlackBerry range.
Ueno Kimiaki of RIM said: "Customers can easily find the applications they desire and download them on-the-go. We are very pleased to offer this enhanced experience to our customers in Japan."
The App World service in Japan is identical to those operating in other regions, although it seems strange that RIM has delayed its launch for such an extended period when the app market is one of the hottest properties in the mobile industry.
