A waggish Twitter user lampooning Apple head Steve Jobs has caught out the Daily Mail, which mistook for the satirical Tweets for real missives from the Apple Chief Executive Officer.

Based on a single tweet that said the iPhone 4 would be recalled, the newspaper reported that the iPhone 4 was due to be recalled by its manufacturer due to reception problems.

The mistake bypassed the Mail's subs despite the fact that the 'ceoSteveJobs' account on the popular social networking site clearly identifies itself as not belonging to the real Mr Jobs.

"The much-vaunted new iPhone 4 may be recalled, Apple boss Steve Jobs revealed last night," wrote a Daily Mail reporter, before quoting the offending tweet.

After the mistake was noticed the article was removed from the Mail's website, although it has since continued to make waves in news search engines.
