Reports suggest that Nokia's N8 will be ready for the retail market on August 24th, which means that it is less than three months from its release.
The Nokia N8 has been the subject of much speculation and intrigue because the world is waiting to see whether Nokia can pull its socks up and create a smartphone that can compete with its main rivals.
No one is doubting the N8 from a hardware point of view; its 12 megapixel camera and its sizeable touchscreen mean that it is more than a match for its nearest competition.
However, all eyes will be on the way in which the new Symbian 3 operating system is implemented, because Nokia's previous efforts have been criticised for a somewhat archaic look and feel.
Rumours of the N8's launch stem from an Engadget report citing a German launch date of August 24th on Amazon for about £306.
