The OTG features essentially means that the forthcoming addition to Nokia's high-end Nseries of mobiles is able to interface with USB memory sticks and portable hard drives while owners playback and access any files and folders they have stored.
This also allows them to expand the phone's 16GB of onboard memory indefinitely when a suitable storage device is plugged in, making it easy to transfer data between the N8 and most other portable media devices.
Nokia has given the N8 the ability to connect to other smartphones via USB, giving you access to data stored on your friends' mobiles, which will all information to be shared at speeds that far exceed those of wireless Bluetooth transfer.
The Nokia N8 seems to be shaping up as a typical Nokia smartphone. Its credentials suggest that there is plenty of open ended functionality that the hardened smartphone lover will be able to enjoy, but there is also a chance that features such as this may confuse and alienate casual mobile users who are in search of the user-friendliness offered by the iPhone.
