Using the Wi-Fi connection offered onboard an American Airlines flight, an iPhone 4 user was able to chat with a friend in full motion video via the FaceTime app.
A man simply known as Bill G recorded himself making the call and observers have been impressed with the quality of the video feed that the iPhone 4 achieved whilst thousands of feet above the surface of the planet.

Bill uploaded the video to YouTube and it is relatively free of interference for the most part, with only a small portion at the end showing any signs of compromise in the video stream.
Perhaps the most interesting point about this experiment is that FaceTime is able to get past the Wi-Fi filters employed by airlines which block the likes of VoIP calls from being made.
After the video was published it is now assumed that airlines will take action to prevent other iPhone 4 users from doing the same.
