Microsoft: iPhone 4 is Apple's 'Vista moment'

With the competition set to intensify between Apple's iOS4 and Microsoft Windows Phone 7, Kevin Turner, Microsoft's chief operating officer (COO) suggests that Apple is having a "Vista moment".

Clearly revelling in a rival's misfortune, Turner made the comments during the Microsoft Washington DC annual worldwide partner conference.

He said: "It looks like the iPhone 4 might be their Vista and I'm OK with that."

With Steve Ballmer, Microsoft's chief executive having previously admitted that the processor hungry Vista operating system was "not well executed", the software giant is no stranger to PR challenges.

Mr Turner also suggested that Microsoft's upcoming Windows Phone 7 devices would function correctly, further alluding to Apple's iPhone 4 antenna issues during his keynote speech.
