The latest iteration of Google's smartphone operating system looks set to come to the Motorola Milestone for UK users, bringing a host of new features to the ageing handset.
The imminent arrival of Android 2.2, AKA Froyo, for German owners of the handset was revealed this week by the Teutonic division of the US smartphone maker, sparking conjecture that it'll also arrive in the UK soon.
The Milestone never secured solid network backing in the UK, although a notable number of committed Fandroids picked it up SIM free.
Froyo was confirmed for the handset's US equivalent, the huge-selling Droid, last week.
Android 2.2 is set to be preloaded onto the follow up to the Milestone, which will be known as the Droid 2 in the US, so the news that the nine month old smartphone will be benefiting from Google's latest software is certainly welcome.
