iPhone users will be pleased to hear that Apple has added an area to the App Store which encourages them to try out applications before purchasing them.
The aptly titled 'Try Before You Buy' section is essentially a portal for developers to release cut down or limited versions of their full, paid-for applications, as morsels to entice punters to part with their digital cash.
The paltry selection of 98 trial apps may sound small in comparison to the hundreds of thousands in the catalogue as a whole, but it is definitely a great start and if it is able to generate extra income for the developers, it will surely become a hot platform for previews.
Apple has always innovated with its app download service and amongst the first batch of trial apps is a ‘lite’ version of the incredibly popular Angry Birds game that has already become a phenomenal success on the app store. The trial version will now allow a whole market of unaware users experience its addictive gameplay.
