Apple has boasted its newly opened store at London’s Covent Garden has more stock of the iPhone 4 than “any other place in the world.”
Demand for Apple’s latest smartphone has been at a constant high in the UK since its release in June.
Speaking at the store’s press unveiling, Apple’s senior vice-president of retail, Ron Johnson said: "The iPhone 4 has been a little hard to get and, like the iPad, there will be more iPhones in this store than any other place in the world.
“If you're interested in the iPad or iPhone, it's a great day to become an owner of these products."
The store is Apple’s 28th in the UK and also its biggest and a landmark 300th in the world.
The opening of any new Apple store is always greeted with crowds and queues, so this bulk stock of cutting edge gadgetry is likely to dwindle relatively quickly. When the shop first opened its doors, the 4000 front runners in the queue were presented with an exclusive Apple t-shirt, allowing them to express their love for the manufacturer wherever they go.
