Fennec mobile browser hits Android phones

Fennec, the mobile version of Mozilla's Firefox web browser software, has arrived on Android in a new pre-release testing edition.

Fennec offers mobile users the chance to synchronise their browsing across both desktop and mobile platforms and although Android has been given a basic build of this app in the past, it is not getting a browser that is on par with the alpha version currently in testing for the Nokia N900.

The browser will bring most of the popular features from Firefox over to the small screen and the ability to seamlessly transfer from browsing on your phone to your home PC without losing any of the history, bookmarks or tabs is certainly impressive.

Users can install custom add-ons which will enable new features within Fennec and it is possible to enable and disable these as required, just like in the full version of Firefox.

The main problem with this early build is that it's necessarily buggy and incomplete, but it's a great way of showcasing just what Mozilla has in mind for the mobile market in its final release.
