iPhone Mirror's Edge landing next month

The delayed free-running simulator Mirror's Edge is set to get an official launch on the iPhone at some point in September, according to publisher EA.

EA announced the news via Facebook and so it looks like it is committed to getting protagonist Faith and her gravity-defying antics onto Apple's smartphone as soon as possible.

Mirror's Edge has been in developmental limbo for almost seven months after it missed its initial February launch date.

The delays have been caused by social networking integration work which EA decided to carry out in order to make the game Facebook-friendly. Further revisions of its release were required when work on an iPad edition began and now EA seems finally ready to get iPhone users onboard.

The iPad version of Mirror's Edge costs £5.99, but when the scaled-down version arrives for the iPhone and iPod Touch, expect it to cost a little less.

Mirror's Edge was a hit on the home consoles and the PC when it arrived almost two years ago and it's likely to win a similarly large following on the mobile market.
