Android 2.2 will arrive in a month's time for HTC Desire owners on Orange, the carrier has confirmed.
A spokesperson for Orange stated: "We are working with HTC to bring the 2.2 Android update to Desire customers as soon as we can.
"This process normally takes about four weeks."
Orange will be carrying out tests to ensure that its HTC Desire users can still make calls and access the smartphone's more advanced features once the update has been installed.

The latest iteration of Google's operating system brings a number of improvements to the handset, including a new homescreen tips widget that makes it easy to configure the layout as well as dedicated shortcuts on the homescreen for the applications launcher and browser.
