The much-rumoured HTC HD3 will be rebranded the HD7 and is landing October 18th, a leaked document suggests.
A leaked O2 handset roadmap unearthed by Engadget lists a hitherto unseen handset dubbed the HD7 with a mid-October launch date.
The site posits that this is the HD3, which has been renamed to reflect the fact that it will be running the latest iteration of Microsoft’s operating system Windows Phone 7.
Specifications for the smartphone are as yet unconfirmed, but in keeping with the previous smartphones in the series it is likely to have a media focus with HD recording and video.
Windows Phone 7 is due to be officially unveiled next month, with launch handsets expected from Samsung, LG and Dell alongside up to four mobiles from HTC.
Last month, Microsoft, which is believed to have set aside a marketing spend of some £260 million, unveiled the line-up of games available for the platform from day one.
Among the 60 titles were mobile iterations of the Halo series and Ubisoft’s Asassin’s Creed as well as games aimed at casual gamers such as Bejeweled and Guitar Hero 5.
