T-Mobile to launch Nokia 5230 with free music downloads

T-Mobile has announced plans to launch the Nokia 5230 on a Pay As You Go deal that comes with free, unlimited music downloads from Nokia’s Ovi Music store.

Quite simply, it means that by purchasing the handset for a one-off cost of just £99.99, owners will be able to download as much music as they want from Nokia’s ten million-strong Ovi Music library for a whole year, and keep them for as long as they like. And the best part is: there are no strings attached.

To sweeten the deal even more, T-Mobile is offering users free Internet and email access for six months. The handset comes with a free in-car cradle. Plus, if you order between October 1st and 3rd, you will receive free speakers, too.

And that’s not all. By topping up a minimum £10 per month, you will be also entitled to unlimited text allowance, but that’s totally optional.

T-Mobile describes the package, which is exclusive to the network, as “this year’s must-have Christmas gift”.

The 5230 packs a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, two-megapixel camera (no flash unfortunately) and comes preloaded with a host of apps such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, MobileTV and many more downloadable from the Ovi Store, including Ovi Maps, which provides free, turn-by-turn satellite navigation.

A Chrome edition of the handset will be available, also exclusive to T-Mobile.

The offer starts on October 1st through T-Mobile’s online store.
