The full version of Angry Birds for Android phones has been delayed, after casual games maker Rovio experienced problems getting the app to work smoothly when other apps were running.
Rovio has informed fans via its Twitter feed that the full version has now been “pushed to next week” to allow it to add “proper support for Android multi-tasking”.
The title had been due to go on sale this week – a month after the trial version of the game aka Angry Birds Lite landed on the Android Market, finally allowing fans of Google’s phones the chance to see what iPhone fanboys have been harping on about for months now.
In other Angry Birds news, the first plush toy in what is expected to be an extensive range of merchandise has shown up in a fan-made video on YouTube.
The game, which has been downloaded over 18 million times across Android and the iPhone, is also set to be turned into an animated movie.
