Angry Birds for Android phones could soon offer the same achievements feature seen in the last update for the iPhone edition of the title, games maker Rovio has announced.
The company implied that the feature would be present in future Android versions of the game in response to a Tweet from Twitter follower Haloman requesting them in a future edition.
As is Rovio’s wont, it didn’t say anything concrete. But the wry, cryptic tone of its response that it is ‘something that has crossed our mind’, suggests to us that it’ll almost be part of Angry Birds on the Android platform soon.
The iPhone edition features some 40-odd achievements for players to gain through their feats of gaming while working their way through the title.
These include everything from the entry-level variety, such as the Angry Birds Addict award that acknowledges that you’ve put in 30 hours or more playing, to Pig Popper – a gong for smashing 1,000 of those meta-irritating green porcines.
Since finally landing in the Android Market earlier this month, the full version of Angry Birds has racked up some three million downloads, defying received wisdom that Fandroids aren't interested in games.
