A video demonstration showcasing the BlackBerry PlayBook has surfaced online, as manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) gears up to take on the iPad in the nascent tablet space.

The clip shows RIM Chief Executive Officer Mike Lazaridis talking us through the device at the Adobe Max conference. Natch, much of the focus is on the Playbook’s Adobe Flash capabilities.
But, for us at least, it’s the webOS-style, card-view multi-tasking that we also get to glimpse that most impresses and that could give said device a real chance against Apple’s slate.
Expected to debut early next year, the BlackPad features an all-new operating system developed by QNX, which RIM’s Dan Dodge claims will allow users to do “things that [they] have never seen before”.
Also onboard the slate is a seven-inch capacitive, multi-touch display, a 1GHZ dual core processor, a three-megapixel front-facing snapper and a five-megapixel camera at the back.
