Cut the Rope iPhone game hits million downloads in ten days

Cut the Rope, a new puzzler that's probably best described as the next Angry Birds, has taken the iPhone App Store by storm, raking in a million downloads in just ten days of its release.

By combining the ever-mesmerising laws of physics with bright and colourful graphics, developers ZeptoLab have left iPhone owners in a frenzy to grab this latest casual gaming sensation.

The game puts you control of nothing more than a pair of scissors. Your goal is to feed an adorable and very hungry, frog-like creature by releasing a piece of candy dangling on a rope at the top of the screen. Once you cut the rope, hence the name, the sweet will be subject to the forces of gravity and it’s up to you to make sure it falls directly into the wide-open mouth of said creature.

As you progress through the levels the difficulty ramps up and you’ll be slashing multiple swinging ropes and overcoming obstacles that require timing and precision.

It’s a little too clever for me to describe in words, so watch the trailer below and then head to the iTunes store straight away. For 59p, you just can’t go wrong with this gem.
