The Dell Venue Pro, the most robust and most enterprise focused Windows Phone 7 (WP7) handset among yesterday’s launch devices, is set to land in the UK soon.
According to Tech Radar, the device, which was the only WP7 smartphone to feature a physical QWERTY keyboard, will arrive in plenty of time for the Christmas market. The site did not reveal pricing or name the carriers set to offer the Venue Pro.
Dell’s effort also stands out due to the incorporation of a Gorilla Glass in its 4.1-inch touchscreen, making it more robust than its WP7 rivals. This is the same hard-wearing, scratch-resistant material used in the iPhone 4.
Other features onboard are broadly in line with other handsets featuring Microsoft’s all-singing, all-dancing user interface. The standard 1GHz processor is present and correct for slicker multi-tasking, as is the pretty much ubiquitous five megapixel camera.
Yesterday’s Windows Phone events saw a mammoth ten new handsets showcased, including some pretty impressive efforts from HTC, LG and Samsung.
