A new HTC handset dubbed ‘Mecha’ has been confirmed on the product registration page of the recently launched HTC Sense website.
The smartphone, which previously leaked on a list of HTC codenames, was discovered by Engadget alongside the upcoming Desire HD and Desire Z as one of only three handsets currently supported by the new HTC Sense service, which enables users to remotely take control of their phones in case of theft or loss.
HTC was never good at keeping things under wraps. The Desire HD and Desire Z were leaked long before they were announced last month at a press call in London, so the fact that this new kit showed up beside the duo suggests that it may also be close to release.
Unfortunately, there is no other information go by on the Mecha except a picture on the registration page, which looks suspiciously similar to the HTC Hero 2 in the US. So it may well be a new variant of that.
