Nokia has announced that its C7 handset has begun shipping to the hands of customers around the world, including the UK.
The C7 was unveiled at Nokia World last month as one of several new handsets from the Finnish smartphone giant to run the latest Symbian3 operating system. It follows in the footsteps of the hotly awaited N8, which launched earlier this month.
Key features of the device includes a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen with “ClearBlack Display”, which Nokia calls “blacker than black” to give even brighter resolution outdoors, an eight-megapixel camera with HD video recording skills and a whole host of social networking and emailing apps installed out of the box.
Jo Harlow, head of smartphones at Nokia, said: "The Nokia C7 is our second smartphone based on the new version of Symbian to hit the market”, adding that it is "designed specifically with the style-conscious consumer in mind”.
Nokia’s estimated retail price of the C7 is €335 before taxes and subsidies, which roughly works out to £292. Those looking to pick it up on the cheap can expect all the major UK carriers to offer the handset on a contract, so stay tuned.
