Nokia has begun taking pre-orders for its latest C7 smartphone, offering it directly from its website SIM free for £389.
The handset, which runs the same Symbian3 operating system as the flagship N8, is firmly aimed at the mid-range market, but still packs in a 3.5-inch, 640x360 AMOLED touchscreen with 8GB of onboard storage.
It’s also home to an eight-megapixel camera with HD video recording, sports three customisable homescreens and comes with an array of smart social networking and email apps pre-installed.
And there’s room too for a microSD card slot allowing memory to be expanded by up to 32GB, plus push email support.
Unveiled at the Nokia World expo last month when much was made of the screen’s 'Clear Black Display' technology that it is claimed is optimised for viewing outdoors, the C7 is the second ever handset to use the Symbian3 platform.
Contract customers will be able to pick up the C7 from October 25th, when it’ll go on sale from all the usual suspects, including 3, Virgin Media, Vodafone, T-Mobile and O2.
