Samsung has signed exclusive deals with games maker Gameloft, the Financial Times and WHSmith to provide exclusive content for its iPad challenger, the Galaxy Tab.
Gameloft has been charged with producing games designed specifically for the Tab, including shooter N.O.V.A Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance HD and racer Asphalt 5HD, both of which will be pre-installed in the Tab when it goes on sale on November 1st.
A further five titles from Gameloft have also been developed and will be available to download from the Android Market from the Tab’s day of release.
The FT deal has resulted in the creation of an app that allows users to “download the daily FT for offline reading while commuting, access the FT’s award-winning content and video, including the latest updates on markets and interviews with high profile CEOs each morning.”
Alongside this, the application includes a Markets Data section, containing company information and macromaps detailing market developments, and the option for users to view their investment portfolios.
The WHSmith app is a Kindle-style e-reader, with adjustable viewing options and discounts on best-selling e-books.
