Nokia phone owners can look forward to an Angry Birds update soon, Rovio has revealed.
The games maker announced its plans on Twitter in response to a Tweet asking if the recently released Halloween edition of the title, which is currently iPhone and iPad-only, is coming to the Android and Symbian platforms.
Rovio categorically stated that the special themed version of the game will not appear on either platform until 2011. However, it did allude to “something else coming for Android and Symbian this year”.
We already knew that phones running Google’s OS are getting an update this month to the 1.4 edition of the game. But it now looks like Nokia handsets are joining them.
It’s not all good news for smartphone gaming enthusiasts, though. In particular Samsung Wave owners, who are still twiddling their thumbs waiting for Angry Birds to land on their handsets.
And if Rovio’s response to request for a release date for a Bada version is anything to go by, it won’t be coming any time soon. According to a somewhat tetchy Tweet, the Bada edition is being held up ‘while Samsung gets its platform sorted”.
