Samsung Bada application store adds luxury brands

Fendi, Lancome and Bobbi Brown apps are coming to the Samsung’s proprietary application store for Bada phones, as part of a new section dedicated to high end brands.

The luxury brand apps will be on offer in the new ‘Brand’ category, which will aggregrate fashion, jewellery as well automotive products and cosmetics.

Handsets compatible with the titles are those in the Wave series: only two of which, namely the original Wave and the Wave Pro, have yet to be granted a UK release.

Kanghyun Kwon, vice president of the Media Solution Center at Samsung Electronics, said: “Luxury consumer brands’ mobile applications are becoming more commonplace so as to take advantage of the widespread use of smartphones.

“The introduction of premium-brand applications not only provides customers up-to-date information about their favourite brands, but it also positions Samsung Apps as a high-value brand itself.”
