A clip of the next Android operating system update has shown up online, offering Fandroids a sneak peek at what it’ll bring to the platform ahead of its rumoured official unveiling on Monday (December 6th).
Check out Android 2.3 for yourself in the video below
The video, which was hastily pulled down before being recovered by the clever coves at Engadget, appears to show Android 2.3, AKA Gingerbread, running on the Google Nexus One.
Although entirely in Cantonese, we’re nonetheless able to get the clearest indication yet of what it’ll bring to your handset. Among the changes are a revamped UI, complete with a tweaked launcher bar at the foot of the screen and a notifications bar in black. There’s also a glimpse at a new version of the Android Market online download store, which now appears to sport a ‘Related’ tab.
The mooted Monday release date for Gingerbread is expected to also see the official unveiling of the second-ever Google branded phone, the Nexus S – making it a shoe-in to be the handset that debuts the latest iteration of Android.
