Motorola has released a video to officially confirm the imminent announcement of its first Android-powered tablet at the CES tech expo next month.

Titled simply ‘Tablet Evolution’, the teaser trailer gives viewers a trip through history to show how ‘tablets’ have evolved from when the ancient Egyptians had first developed theirs, to more recent efforts of the 21st century. As you can imagine, there’s some familiar faces here but we won’t spoil those for you (watch the video below).

We were already given a sneak peak at Motorola’s tablet by Android main-man Andy Rubin at the recent D: Dive Into Mobile conference. Currently being dubbed the MotoPad, it will run on the tablet-optimised Honeycomb iteration of Google’s OS.

While details are sketchy on the actual specifications of the device, it is said to sport 10.1-inch screen with a 720p resolution. And to keep things ticking over smoothly it will pack a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 250 processor with 512MB RAM. Additionally, it is rumoured to feature two front and rear-mounted cameras.
