Disney’s Japanese mobile telephony division is to launch a 3D screen-toting, Android powered smartphone, with a spec sheet well in advance of the budget blowers the company usually specialises in.
Unearthed by the mobile mavens at Electronista, the Japan-only handset packs a 3.8-inch capactive touchscreen display and is capable of naked-eye 3D graphics, so there’s no need to wear those silly shades with green and red lenses.
The phone, which is Disney Mobile’s first-ever on the Android platform, also features a pretty impressive 9.6-megapixel snapper with high-def video recording and offers support for Flash 10.1 for better browsing and NFC tech for contactless payments a la Oyster cards.
Somewhat surprising, though, is that it’ll run with the distinctly ‘bare necessities’ Android 2.2 onboard, rather than the up to the minute Gingerbread iteration of the platform.
Never one to miss a marketing opportunity or the chance to ensure your kids’ unwavering loyalty to its brand, Disney also provides a set of interchangeable cases and exclusive content, plus a special Disney email address.
