Google Translate users can now get spoken translations in real-time from their Android smartphone, with the addition of a Conversation mode to the search giant's updated language app.
Here’s how it works. You simply speak whatever you need to be translated in to the Voice Search mic. The app will then check it’s understood your garbled mumble by converting it to text on the display.
Happy it has? Sure you are. Well, then just approve it then and tap the speaker. Hey presto, your smartie will speak whatever you’ve said aloud in the foreign language of your choice - and avec a flawless accent to boot.
Unfortunately, the Conversation Mode currently only offers English to Spanish translation. But, provided it’s Spain you’ve picked for your winter sun break, it’s all gravy, eh?
