Dead Space, the follow-up to EA’s critically acclaimed survival horror cum third-person shooter of the same name will soon be making its way to the iPhone to scare the bejesus out of you wherever you go.
Set sometime before the events of the upcoming console sequel, Dead Space 2, which takes place on The Sprawl, a space station that has now succumbed to the Necromorphs that haunted the USG Ishimura mining ship in the original game, the mobile edition will put players in the shoes of Vandal and not Isaac.
Fear not as Vandal will able to yield an all-new weapon to take down the nasties, the Plasma Saw (we like the sound of that already), and buy more powerful equipment to be purchased (with real money) as you progress through the game.
Levels revealed so far take place in a mine, but more importantly, a mining tram. It may not be a kart, but we aren’t complaining because the game itself looks gorgeous, with eye-popping textures, dark, dingy corridors with scant lighting to render the atmosphere that fans have come to love from the series.
Dead Space will be available day and date with the release of Dead Space 2, on January 25th.
