Devil May Cry slashing its way onto iPhone

Capcom, the makers of the hugely popular Street Fighter series, has announced that it will be bringing yet another one of its hot-sellers to the iPhone, Devil May Cry.

Devil May Cry 4: Refrain as it's known will place players back in the shoes of Nero who you may remember as the star of the most recent console instalment of the franchise, Devil May Cry 4.

As with any DMC title, fans can expect a whole lotta demon-slashing set in at least ten levels filled with plentiful creatures of the underworld and giant, nasty bosses to decimate, complete with a generous serving of badassery and cheesy, but well-delivered, one-liners from said protagonist.

Nero will be yielding his signature sword and handguns. Although the fan-favourite Dante will not be a playable character when the game launches, Capcom has promised to address that in a future update.

In terms of gameplay, Capcom has done all it can to keep controls simple for fans and new gamers alike, with an on-screen analogue stick on the left-hand side for movement and action buttons on the right-hand side.

While the graphics don’t look nearly as sharp as more recent iPhone gems such as Rage and Infinity Blade, DMC still has its charm with plenty of neat effects and over-the-top action that the series is best known for.

Devil May Cry 4: Refrain will launch on the iPhone and iPod touch later this month for £3.99.
