The business focussed HTC 7 Pro and Gratia budget Android blower are landing in the UK next month, it has been confirmed.
Running Windows Phone 7, the 7 Pro packs a QWERTY keypad for messaging on the move, Outlook support and the ability to create and edit Word docs. And in news to interest all you high net worth individuals among our readership, it’s got HTC’s stocks application pre-installed, so you can check how your portfolio is performing.
As with all WP7 smartphones, the 7 Pro features Microsoft’s tile-based UI. In keeping with the rigid system requirements laid down by the Big M, there’s also an expansive 3.6-inch display that tilts for when you’re typing and Dolby Mobile sound for a superior Xbox Live gaming and video viewing experience.
The Android powered Gratia runs Froyo out of the box, with HTC’s social networking custom skin over the top, and features a five megapixel camera and 3.2-inch HVGA screen. But it stands out principally for its slim dimensions. It’s just over four inches long and weighs in at a positively Nicole Richie-esque 4.06 ounces.
Jon French, Executive Director HTC UK, Ireland and South Africa, said: “Both phones offer the stand-out design and innovation for which HTC has become renowned.
“With the fresh and exciting mobile experience of the Windows Phone 7 platform, HTC 7 Pro is for users who want to combine the ultimate in business efficiency with the ability to take full advantage of their leisure time.”
He added: “The elegant HTC Gratia is designed for those people looking for a compact yet powerful Android smartphone.”
Pricing and network carriers have yet to be confirmed, but we’ll know more when they drop in February.
