What appears to be the next handset in the burgeoning HTC Desire range of Android phones has cropped up on the Taiwanese metro system, ahead of its anticipated official launch next month.
Engadget snapped the handset in the palms of a passenger. Although we don’t know for sure that it’s a Desire branded handset, its high-end look and expansive almost tablet-esque screen suggest it’s unlikely to be a Wildfire-style budget blower.
Other than that there’s little about the device that we can determine. Here’s hoping we’ll get a clearer idea come next month’s Mobile World Congress, where we’re also slated (boom-boom) to get a look at the much-rumoured HTC Flyer Android tablet.
According to the online rumour mill, said device will pack front-facing and rear facing snappers of five and 1.3 megapixels respectively and will launch with Android 2.3, AKA Gingerbread, out of the box, overlaid with a tablet optimised version of HTC’s Sense custom skin.
Other mooted specs include an HDMI connector and a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor.
