We all know it’s coming but it’s nice to have assurance nonetheless that Apple's much hyped, hitherto-unseen iPad 2 will pack some new bells and whistles to get even the most reserved iFan squealing like a pre-teen at a Twilight signing.
A newly unearthed plastic case by Apple Insider and MIC Gadget has given fresh credence to rumours that the iPad 2 will feature dual front and rear-mounted cameras, as well a dedicated SD card slot and potentially a mini DisplayPort on top.
The tech mob at Engadget already claim to have confirmed the former by reliable sources, which if turns out to be true, would be a huge boon for multimedia enthusiasts currently shackled by the limits of the iPad’s internal-only storage solution.
The latter is mostly speculative but is in use in Apple’s MacBook range, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility to feature in the iPad successor if Apple has a sudden urge to offer users more options.
Not much else can be deduced at this point. The iPad 2 is rumoured to be unveiled next month so watch this space for all the deets real soon.
