LG’s upcoming Optimus 3D smartphone is set to launch in Blighty in April carrying a price tag just a penny short of £515.
That’s according to Expansys, anyway. The online vendor is currently listing the SIM free version of the much-hyped, first ever ‘glasses free’ 3D Android smartie for preorder, and is due to have it in stock in April 25th.
Of course, those without a spare £500-odd lying around can look forward to slicing that outlay partially or completely with a contract from Orange, Vodafone and 3, the only UK networks so far to have thrown their support behind the handset’s launch.
That said, despite the steep price tag, the Gingerbread powered LG Optimus 3D makes up for it rather handsomely with an industrial? design, housing a 4.3-inch panel that doesn’t require those silly specs to get the 3D effect, plus a 1GHz dual core processor to keep things running buttery smooth. Better still is the dual lens five-megapixel camera capable of 3D video, along with an HDMI output for playing back clips on the big screen.
Stay tuned for more information regarding the Optimus 3D as we approach D-day to launch.
