An exclusive black colourway of the Sony Ericsson Arc is coming to Orange, it has been confirmed, along with the camera-focussed Neo and Play gaming phone.
All three Android powered handsets are expected to be free on a range of contract options and are confirmed to land during the second quarter with the latest Gingerbread iteration of Android on board. The Play will almost certainly lead the way, with networks set to begin offering it from March.
The Arc’s standout features include an expansive 4.2” multi-touch Bravia display, plus an 8.1 megapixel camera with HD video recording and an Exmor R sensor for good results in low-light conditions.
Touted as a successor to the Vivaz, the Neo also packs an 8.1 megapixel snapper with the same Exmor R screen as well as a secondary VGA camera for video calling, but packs a more compact 3.7-inch display.
Finally, the Play is the fabled PlayStation phone. This teams a slide-out d-pad with shoulder buttons and a pair of analogue touchpads. There are also buttons imprinted with the PlayStation’s nigh-on legendary circle, cross, square and triangle branding.
At the time of writing, it wasn't yet clear if Sony Ericsson's other Mobile World Congress debutant, the QWERTY keyboard-packing Xperia Pro, is coming to the network.
