Orange and T-Mobile will range the iPad from the day of release on March 25th, it has been confirmed.
Orange press type Conor Maples confirmed that the two companies, which come under the umbrella brand Everything Everywhere, are on board with iPad 2 from launch via Twitter. Pricing for the attendant mobile broadband contract deals has yet to be established.
However, in news that surprised many tech-watchers, one-time sole UK iPhone carrier O2 has told Tech Radar it will not be offering iPad 2 contracts, but will instead focus on SIM only deals for the device.
O2 stated: "We continue to offer great value, flexible data tariffs for iPad 2 and the unique ability to manage these tariffs on the device itself."
“Although we will not be selling iPad 2 with subsidy, O2 microsims with our great value iPad tariffs are still available for customers who have purchased the device elsewhere.”
Of the UK’s other major networks, 3’s Twitter feed indicates it’s remaining tight-lipped over its plans right now, as is Vodafone. Meanwhile, Virgin Media didn’t pick up the first iPad, so it’s unlikely it’ll be on board for this time around either.
