Three has begun rolling out Android 2.3 to Samsung Galaxy S owners, bringing some groovy new features to Sammy’s blockbuster blower bang on schedule.
Earlier today, Three was forced to postpone the OS bump for owners of the HTC Desire HD and original Desire after HTC was late getting it over the network.
Three, which intended to get Gingerbread out to HTC Desire phones and the Galaxy S before the end of May, also reported discovering bugs in the new iteration when tested on HTC’s smartphones.
However, one of Three’s press people has today told us that there are no such problems with Gingerbread for the Galaxy S and that the all-singing, all-dancing upgrade is available to download now.
So what have you got to look forward to then? Well quite a bit, as it happens. Not least because Gingerbread is packed with performance optimisations for an all-round faster smartphone experience.
Also new with Android 2.3 is a revamped virtual keyboard and enhanced copy and paste.
