A brand new BlackBerry kit has been leaked, the Bold Touch 9860, codenamed Monza, that appears to be the GSM version of the previously leaked 9850, aka Monaco.
The snaps, obtained by BlackBerryOS.com, reveal a candy bar-shaped smartie that looks almost identical to the 9850, except that it now boasts all-black buttons that give it more sophisticated look and a chassis that doesn’t appear to swivel near the top or the bottom like the 9850. Although it is very hard to tell, as there are no images available of the side of the phone, so it may not be the case after all.
In terms of specs, we know that it packs a 1.2GHz processor, same as the 9850. However, it also sports the latest, greatest BlackBerry OS7, unlike the 6.1 iteration of its slightly older twin, which means it’ll most likely be billed as a flagship smartie in the Bold range.
Other standout features expected to be onboard include a five-megapixel snapper with HD recording capability at minimum 720p, a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and if we’re right, NFC capabilities.
No word yet on when the 9860 might be available for purchase, but considering that the handset is working and is being used by some lucky chap/gal out there, it’ll probably be announced soon. So stay tuned.
