HTC is reportedly working on an Android phone to appeal to women turned off by the macho looks of its handsets.
Earlier this year, INQ head honcho Frank Meehan caused a minor storm when he claimed that Android appeals almost exclusively to geeks and that phones running Google's OS held scant interest for “pretty girls”.
Whether that’s true or not is a moot point. But it’s clear that HTC appears to agree with him. How else to explain the apparent existence of the HTC Bliss, which features shopping and calorie counting apps, plus a hook for attaching it to a handbag so it’s easy to fish out?
Adding to the phone’s purported appeal to the gals is a cute charm and pastel green/blue colour scheme that’s in stark contrast to the industrial greys and blacks that ordinarily mark out HTC kit.
Tech specs for the Bliss remain thin on the ground. But according to thisismynext.com, it’ll be touchscreen only with no physical keyboard and feature a rear mounted snapper.
