HTC Sensation and ChaCha coming to 3 in June

3 has announced it will be ready to offer the Android powered HTC Sensation and HTC ChaCha smartphones on contract starting next month.

The carrier has updated the ‘coming soon’ page on its website to confirm that the HTC Sensation, which is currently exclusive to Vodafone, will be in stock from June for those still waiting to pick it up on contract.

3 also revealed that HTC’s first ‘Facebook optimised’ smartie, the ChaCha, will be available to order in June too.

Contract or pricing details for the handsets have yet to be officially confirmed. Vodafone is currently offering the Sensation on a two-year £35 a month contract so we expect 3 to price it somewhere in that region, but with its ‘all-you-can-eat’ unlimited data plan thrown on top to sweeten the deal.

Standout features of the Sensation include a capacious 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz dual core processor, an eight-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash, and up to 32GB of expandable memory via the microSD slot.

More importantly, it will run on Android 2.3 – aka Gingerbread – out of the box – so there's no waiting around endlessly for an update.

Better yet, it will adorn the shiny-new version three-point-oh of HTC’s Sense UI, which sports some cool 3D design tweaks, and of course, the customary seven home screens to fill with widgets, shortcuts and whathaveyou.

Meanwhile, the ChaCha sports a relatively underpowered 600MHz processor, though it should still be plenty for multitasking and everyday operations.

What’s new here, however, is a dedicated Facebook button that allows you share just about anything quicksmart.

It’s also home to a full, physical QWERTY keyboard, which does means the screen real estate takes a slight hit at 2.6-inches, but that’s more than enough if you’re mainly keen on the ChaCha’s emailing and messaging capabilities.

Elsewhere there’s a five-megapixel rear-mounted snapper and a front-facing VGA for video calls, plus an array of connectivity options such as Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi (b/g/n) and a microUSB port.

Like the Sensation, the ChaCha will also run Gingerbread out of the box.

The Sensation launched on Vodafone last week, which means it should be available on 3 in round about three weeks’ time. The ChaCha, on the other hand, may release as early as June 6th.
