The white edition of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has finally landed on O2 contract deals, after component shortages hit stocks of the handset.
O2 customers can grab the handset for free on select contracts for a shade over £30 per month. When bought online O2 is also throwing in three free games and a free multimedia dock, while stocks last.
Launched back in April, the Xperia Play is the PlayStation handset that’s been rumoured for years and blends Android smartphone functionality with the dedicated controls of a handheld games console.
At its core is Android 2.3 - the latest version of Google’s operating system - and a dual core 1GHz processor to keep everything ticking over smoothly. Plus there’s a five megapixel camera with LED flash and HD video recording on board, too, and a 4.2-inch touchscreen.
The Play also offers support for Sony’s soon to come PlayStation suite games download service, which is purported to offer classic PSOne titles as well as newer gear ported over from the PSP.
